University of Ulm

In 2016/2017 winter term, Karl Petersen, Dr. Julia Busch and Prof. Dr. Kai-Uwe Marten are holding a series of lectures  on the issue "Special Issues Concerning the Preparation of Financial Statements" at the University of Ulm. The lectures are based on the close cooperation between Kleeberg and Prof. Dr. Kai-Uwe Marten, Head of the Institute of Accounting and Auditing at the University of Ulm.

The speakers will impart the fundamentals of consolidated accounting to students in this course of lectures, focusing on the standards of the German Commercial Code and IFRS. On the basis of the obligation to draw up consolidated financial statements and to determine the group of consolidated companies, the steps required to draw up consolidated financial statements including the necessary consolidation measures are explained and illustrated with a host of practical examples.

The series of lectures will take place on the following dates (from 8 am to 2 pm on each date):

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Christian Zwirner is holding a series of lectures entitled “Internationale Rechnungslegung I” in which students learn about the nature and fundamentals of international accounting. The subjects of these lectures are reporting the fixed assets, inventories and financial instruments in the balance sheet. Equity and debt capital will also be analysed. Finally, the profit and loss account will be treated at the end of the semester with the other reporting instruments, such as cash flow statement, statement of changes in equity and segment reporting, rounding off this event.

The series of lectures covers 4 hours per week during the semester and takes place on the following dates (from 8 am to 12 noon):
